New for 2015!
Attention Soccer Ballers! Now, we include a game with your weekend admission that is safe, entertaining to watch, and hilariously fun to play: bubble soccer (aka bubble football). What on God’s green Earth is bubble soccer, you ask? The most action-packed, entertaining, delightful to watch, safest version of soccer the world has ever seen! Take one part soccer, one part pillowfight, one part vaudeville slapstick comedy, mix well, and what you get looks a little bit like this:

So, clearly just a little bit different than the soccer we have come to know and appreciate. If by “a little bit different” you mean zany, unpredictable, whacky, hilarious, farcical, and, in fact, an entire thesaurus full of words that mean fun and/or adventure.

As with soccer, bubble soccer is played on a grass field or indoor gym of usual dimensions, with a referee, and two goals. Sometimes time is kept according to regulations, or games are often shortened by design, by exhaustion, or by the inability of people convulsed with laughter to run after a ball anymore. This event is somewhat subject to the weather, so it may be closed on rainy weekends (admission cost will reflect any closure at time of purchase).

It’s sure to be a “smashing” good time at inaugural Pumpkin Destruction event

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Maris Farms wants to help “smash” this destructive disease with an event unlike any other in the Puget Sound – the inaugural Smash Cancer-Pumpkin Destruction Day at Maris Farms, sponsored by Snell Crane, 100.7 FM The Wolf and the Buckley farm as well as several more partnership businesses.

All will join forces on Oct. 31st for a day of pumpkin crushing, tossing and smashing activities that are sure to provide plenty of entertainment, excitement and help raise money to “smash breast cancer” in the process!  A portion of every dollar spent that day at the gate will be donated to the Puget Sound Affiliate of Susan G. Komen. There will also be four major “pumpkin drops,” two of which will allow folks to help contribute to the fundraising efforts that day. A crane, provided by Snell, will perform these “pumpkin drops” at 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm and 5 pm. The 1 and 5 pm “drops” will give patrons the opportunity to purchase gourds, put their names on them and potentially win a grand prize from one of our participating partner businesses by landing closest to a designated target. The 11 am and 3 pm “drops” will be loads of normal sized pumpkins, released from a net about 50+ feet in the air by Snell – just going “splat” on the ground!

Before and after the major “pumpkin drops” there will be many activities for visitors to take part in, and there will be drawings for prizes before each of the four “drops.” People will earn tickets for those drawings based on their participation in the many pumpkin smashing events, activities and competitions going on that day.

Exciting and unique activities include the Pumpkin Bowling, Pumpkin Pounding, the Ooey Gooey Pumpkin Walk, Grease Pumpkin Toss and Pumpkin Darts! Or why not  try your hand at the Hoola Hoop Pumpkin Toss or watch the Monster Truck pumpkin smash? It’s sure to be a “smash” out at the farm that day!
