Young duck-athlete extends his dominance and lead over QUACKie Chan and rest of ‘Iron Duck’ field
Once again, it was the Black & QUACKie show this weekend at Maris Farms as young QUACK Black extending his dominance and lead in the Iron DUCK Championship racing series over QUACKie Chan by taking 3 out of 4 races as he did the first weekend against Chan as well. Black now has 6 wins to Chan’s 2. No other duck-athlete has been victorious.
It’s becoming increasingly clear that QUACK is quicker than QUACKie when it comes to a fast start and a strong finish.
QUACK Black was out of the gate before any of the other duck-athletes all weekend. QUACKie Chan has often caught up and passed him heading back up the ramp at the turnaround. But QUACK has continued to sprint past QUACKie and the others at the end for the win. QUACKie fended QUACK off only one time, on Saturday, and one time the previous weekend.
“It seems like he’s got that other gear, quick-twitch feathers,” QUACKie Chan told a post-race gathering of reporters on Sunday afternoon. “It doesn’t matter if you’re in the lead, he’s always lurking and seems to know when to turn it on.”
Race announcer Dennis “Quack-Master” Riley agreed.
“QUACK is no slouch, and he deserves respect for what he’s established in these first two weekends of competition,” Riley said. “I said it last week, and I’ll say it again – he’s not just winging it out there, he’s a truly dominating quackpetitor.”
QUACK knows you’re only as good as your last race, and doesn’t plan to rest on his feathers.
“Lots of races left and I’m not going to be happy just to be here,” the sleek, motivated Black told reporters. “I won’t rest until I’ve completed my mission, and that’s to be THE most dominant duck-athlete this series has ever had.”
That would mean winning at least 6 more times (for a total of 12 wins), a feat accomplished by Michael QUACKson in 2015. He collected 11 wins back in 2015.
For the weekend, a total of $118 was raised for Fisher House through the “bets” that race fans placed (in the form of a donation). A total of 144 “bets” were placed and QUACK Black had the most bets placed on him with 45. So far, $172 has been raised and 201 bets placed. Racing will resume this weekend – Saturday and Sunday at 1 and 3 pm – at Maris Farms.
