Maris Farms brings back the crowd favorites, racing pigs and ducks in the month-long event to raise money for the Fisher House and Seattle Children’s Hospital. Place a bet on your favorites in the form of a donation to the charity and receive a special gift. If your racer wins, you’ll be entered into a drawing for a special prize provided by our sponsors.
Races are held every hour between 12-4 PM, Saturdays and Sundays in October.
For the pigs, now in their 10th season of racing, they will be running to raise money for a new recipient, Seattle Children’s Hospital and a new title sponsor, Washington Healthplanfinder. Patterned after the famous Triple Crown races in horse racing, this will be the Triple ‘Pig’ Crown series. Visitors will be able to wager on their favorite pig and will receive a numbered raffle ticket. At the end of the race, a ticket will be drawn from the winning pigs slot and that individual will win a prize from one of our sponsors
The month-long event raises money by allowing people to place bets on who they believe will win each race. Those bets are given in the form of a donation. Each “betting” participant receives a special pig nose and if their pig wins the race, they’ll be entered into a drawing for a special prize provided by our sponsors. To date, the Maris Farms Triple ‘Pig’ Crown event has raised more than $23,000 for St. Jude during its 9-year run.
Dates of Races: Oct 1/2, Oct 8/9 (PIGtucky Derby), Oct. 15/16 (The SQUEAKness), Oct. 22/23 (The BOARmont Stakes) and Oct. 29/30, 2016 Time: 12 pm, 2 pm and 4 pm each weekend day.
